What is Awareness?

    According to the dictionary, awareness is the ability to directly know and perceive, to feel, or to be cognizant of events. More broadly, it is the state of being conscious of something. Another definition describes it as a state wherein a subject is aware of some information when that information is directly available to bring to bear in the direction of a wide range of behavioral actions. The concept is often synonymous to consciousness and is understood as being consciousness itself.

    The states of awareness are also associated with the states of experience so that the structure represented in awareness is mirrored in the structure of experience.

    What is and why Self-Awareness is so important?

    Self-awareness is an awareness of the self, with the self-being what makes one’s identity unique. These unique components include thoughts, experiences, and abilities.

    Self-awareness is the ability to monitor emotions and thoughts from moment to moment.

    It is key to understanding ourselves better, being at peace with who we are and proactively managing our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

    As you develop self-awareness, you are able to make changes in the thoughts and interpretations. Changing the interpretations in your mind allows you to change your emotions.

    Self -awareness is one of the attributes of Emotional Intelligence and an important factor in achieving success. Self -awareness is the first step in creating what you want and mastering your life.

    Where you focus your attention, your emotions, reactions, personality and behavior determine where you go in life. “Where attention goes energy flows”

    Having self-awareness allowed you to see where your thoughts and emotions are taking you. Allowing you to take control of your thoughts, emotions, behavior, and personality so you can make the changes you want.
